Privacy Policy
Xolynk is a dating and social connection service operated by Xolynk Technologies Ltd. This policy explains what information Xolynk collects, why it is needed, who else processes it, and what happens if you ask us to erase your account.
Information you give us
Account
We ask for an email address and a password so you can create an account, sign in, and recover it. If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares the identity details needed to open your Xolynk account. Apple sign-in and phone sign-in are not offered.
Profile and verification
We ask for profile details and photographs so other people can see your profile in discovery and chat. If you submit verification images, we use them to review that submission. You can correct profile details in Edit Profile.
Messages, Moments, and status updates
Messages, photographs, voice notes, video notes, Moments, and status updates are stored so Xolynk can deliver what you send or post. They remain available in the conversation or post after they are delivered.
If your account is later erased, Xolynk removes the content and attachments of messages you sent, and it deletes your status updates and Moments. A person who already received a message may still have seen it or saved a copy on their device. Erasure does not remove every copy from someone else's device. Messages that other people sent can remain in their accounts.
Reports, blocks, and support
Reports, blocks, and support messages are used to review safety and help requests.
Information collected while you use Xolynk
Location
Nearby discovery uses your device location so it can show people near you. The Android app can ask for both precise and approximate location. The location reading used for discovery is a medium-accuracy reading, and the coordinates are saved on your profile.
You can refuse location or turn it off in your device settings. Nearby discovery then cannot take a new reading from the device. A location already saved on your profile stays until it is updated or your account is erased. It is not removed merely because you leave Nearby.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token so Xolynk can alert you to messages, calls, and service notices.
On your device
The app keeps a session, settings, a device identifier used for Xolynk's own product records, and cached media on your device so you can stay signed in and see photos without downloading them again. Signing out or uninstalling the app may remove some of this information. It does not remove every copy, including a copy kept in a device backup.
Product records
Xolynk records product events in its own systems, such as sign-in, swipes, and messages. These records are used to operate and review the service.
Legal acceptance records
When you accept a legal document, we record the document version, the time, the platform, the IP address, the user agent, and basic device information.
Calls
During a voice or video call, the audio and, for video, the picture are carried so the other person can hear and see you. Agora provides that connection. Xolynk does not save a recording of the call in the chat.
Xolynk keeps a call history record, including who took part, whether the call was voice or video, how long it lasted, and how it ended. The current product does not set a fixed period after which that call history is deleted. Shorter-lived call connection records are removed after 30 days. A call notice already delivered can remain on a device.
Wallet
We keep your coin balance, purchases, spending, gifts, boosts, referral or promotion credits, and administrative adjustments. On the Xolynk website and the website Android app, coin purchases are paid through Paystack. In the Google Play app, coin purchases are paid through Google Play. Coins are an in-app balance. They are not cash.
Safety and records
We keep reports, restrictions, support requests, privacy requests, and staff audit records so we can investigate safety, fraud, and account actions.
Who else processes information
- Supabase stores accounts, app data, and uploaded files, and runs Xolynk's server functions.
- Google Firebase is used for Google sign-in and push notifications.
- Agora carries the audio and video of a call.
- Paystack processes coin purchases on the website and the website Android app.
- Google Play processes coin purchases in the Play app.
- Resend may deliver service email. Sendchamp may deliver a text message when Xolynk sends one.
- Cloudflare serves the Xolynk website and may process the connection information needed to do that.
These providers process information to perform those jobs.
Xolynk may disclose information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to review a safety report, fraud, or a dispute. Xolynk does not sell your profile.
Information processed outside Nigeria
The providers named in this policy can process information in countries other than Nigeria. This policy does not name a storage country for that processing.
How information is protected
You need your account login to use your profile, messages, and wallet. Payment credentials are handled by Paystack or Google Play, not stored as card numbers in Xolynk. These steps reduce risk. They do not guarantee that information can never be lost or accessed without permission.
Your privacy requests
Open User Privacy in the app to ask for a copy of personal data Xolynk holds, for information about how that data is used, to raise a privacy concern, or to request account erasure. You can also use in-app Support or email admin@xolynk.com.
You can correct profile details yourself in Edit Profile. A privacy request is reviewed. It does not by itself change a profile field or guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
Account erasure
How to ask
In the app, open User Privacy and request account erasure. You can also email admin@xolynk.com from the email address on the account. The page at https://xolynk.com/delete-account/ explains the same request. Opening that page does not erase an account.
Review and waiting period
A reviewer approves the request. A waiting period of 14 days then applies, and you can cancel during that period. If a legal, fraud, or dispute hold is in place, erasure waits until that hold is resolved.
What is removed
When erasure is completed, Xolynk removes your profile details, profile photographs, saved location, the content and attachments of messages you sent, status updates, Moments, notification tokens, discovery preferences, and files you uploaded, including verification files. You are signed out, and that account can no longer be used.
Erasure does not remove every copy of information that has already been delivered. A message, photo, or call notice can remain on another person's device. Messages other people sent, and likes and matches, are not removed by this process.
What is kept
Some records are kept. Wallet transaction records are kept as financial records. Staff audit records are kept. The erasure request and a record that the account was erased are kept. If a legal, security, or fraud hold applied to the account, the hold record is kept. Call history can also remain. These records are kept for finance, security, fraud prevention, disputes, and audit. They are not used to keep the account open.
The current product sets the 14-day waiting period before erasure and removes shorter-lived call connection records after 30 days. It does not set a fixed period for deleting the wallet, audit, hold, or call-history records described above.
Updates
If this policy changes in a material way, Xolynk shows you the new version in the app and can ask you to accept it before you continue. The version published in the app is the version that applies.
